Green Weddings are a fabulous and socially responsible trend. But, actually producing a Green Wedding may pose a dilemma in the minds of many couples. How do we create a stellar ceremony and celebrations for friends and family, without buying into the environmentally destructive consumerism of the modern economy? A valid dilemma: Being Green implies reduction and a small footprint. A wedding is an expansive, joyous event, a feast, a gathering of friends and family from all corners of the earth to come and bear witness. Weddings involve travel, gifts, festivities and consumption. Not exactly a time for a small footprint!!! Are Green Weddings simply a contradiction in terms? Maybe so.
