Guest Blog by Jocelyn Anne
You’ve got the ethically mined and harvested diamonds in
your ring, a vintage gown in the closet, locally grown wildflowers awaiting,
organic wine, organic fruits and a locally, sustainably made cake all lined up. But, what about the actual building that your
reception is taking place in? While ceremonies
are a bit easier and can often be held outside in the beauty of pure nature,
chances are that you aren’t going to find a building big enough for your reception

In the past year, according to I Do Foundation, the nation’s pioneer in wedding occasion giving, three percent more couples are raising money for charity through their weddings with charity registries and charitable favors. Guests are making larger donations in honor of the newlywed couple (6 percent increase to almost $82 per gift) and each wedding is raising an average of nearly $585 for charity (13 percent increase). Charitable wedding gifts are not only becoming more accepted, but also requested.

BravoBride.com’s Impressive Vow for Earth Day
BravoBride.com, the Web's go-to site for buying and selling pre-owned and discounted wedding items, is celebrating Earth Day this year by planting a tree for every wedding gown listed for sale all through the month of April by working with The Nature Conservancy.
Known as the largest online marketplace for discounted wedding items from new and used bridal gowns to reception supplies, BravoBride has made this impressive vow in hopes to remind the public that there are a variety of ways to make and impact.
“When given the opportunity, it is our responsibility to take action in protecting our planet,” says Susan Shapiro creator of BravoBride.com, “This is a great opportunity to not only help our endangered forests, but also to inspire others to jump in and do the same.”
